2 Scottish National Exhibition Edinburgh 1908 Medals. These two 1st Prize Awards, show just how serious they were taken. Not just by the area, but the country. Over 3.5 million visitors were attracted to this, which was a major event for its time.
The 1908 Scottish National Song Medal (left) was part of a movement of Scottish Culture Nationalism, that sought to preserve and promote Scottish Musical Identity in the 19th and 20th centuries (Hallmarked Edinburgh Silver 1908).
While the award for Fishing Rods (Right) may not have much historical importance, the medal for this is so well made it must have been treasured. This was likely an award that was part of the "Palace of Industries" or similar trade exhibits (Hallmarked Birmingham Silver 1905).
Available at Doune (VEY)
National Song Medal £140.00
Fishing Rod Medal £90.00
