Rolex Tudor Gents Watch
Details | Clan Campbell Antiques
gents solid 9k gold Rolex Tudor Royal wristwatch for sale, this time a superb example dating from 1962 with its original box and paperwork.
Slowly, vintage watch buyers are realising just how undervalued Rolex Tudors have been, and prices are beginning to rise steeply and without doubt will continue to do so; they are a superb investment. To buy a comparable watch of this quality from say Jaeger LeCoultre, would cost at least an extra 50% rendering the Tudors superb value. This trend has been strengthened by the relaunch of the brand.
The overall condition of this watch is good and it is in completely original condition. The heavy, solid gold case has a diameter of some 32mm excluding the lugs and Rolex signed winding crown.
The rear of the case is engraved, many such Tudors were for long service. The Dennison case inner is signed ‘Rolex’ alongside case references of 12856 and 211741 alongside the Birmingham assay hallmarks for 1962.
The original dial (slight patina) has applied gold Arabic hours, a black printed Tudor rose above the ‘Tudor Royal’ wording, original, gold hands and a centre sweep seconds.
The watch has been regularly serviced over the years (latterly in 2018) and needless to say the 17 rubied movement (as oppose to non-Royal 15) keeps immaculate time effortlessly.
Lastly the watch comes on a nearly new, Buffalo leather strap with gold coloured buckle to match the case.
